Are you tired of wearing bras that simply don’t fit? Well, we are too! At PassionSpice we know just how important a proper fit is. A nursing bra that does not fit well could cause complications such as plugged ducts and even mastitis! Yikes! A bra that fits you properly and provides the proper support is a must!
When measuring yourself for a bra, it is important to get accurate measurements. You are more likely to get accurate measurements if you have someone else measure you. The first measurement you need to take is around your ribcage. This measurement is to help determine band size, and should be taken where your bra would sit. When measuring your band size, make sure that you have a snug fit, but not too tight. It should be comfortable, without being loose. The next measurement you need to take is around the fullest part of your breast. It would be ideal to measure yourself in the best fitting bra you own. Something that supports and lifts your breasts and is the proper size, not squishing your breast, or one where you are overflowing the cup. These two measurements should be written down and used when looking at the sizing chart for your favorite nursing bra company.
When you are wearing a bra, the band should fit snugly, but not tight. The band should sit straight across your back. Make sure the band doesn’t rise up in the middle of your back. The adjustable shoulder straps should be tightened to ensure your breasts are supported and there should be no overflow at the top of the cup or on the sides. A proper fitting bra will fit smooth along your breast and support you from the bottom and sides.
Bras that are too tight can lead to plugged ducts and bras that don’t sit properly may compress milk ducts and lead to lower milk production. It is our goal to hlp you choose the correct size bra, and the correct bra for you. Please give us a call, or send us an email if you would like help finding the correct PassionSpice Bra for you!
